Resilience Coaching for Lawyers

Lawyers are conflict Managers, whether they are Litigators or work in a corporate environment. Or whether they think of themselves as Solicitors or Barristers.

Resilience is a skillset, not a trait. So resilience can be further developed and supported with Coaching, whether for individuals or for groups and organizations.

And Resilience Coaching for Lawyers draws upon the insights on navigating adversity set out in my collaborative book called “Trauma-Informed Law: A Primer for Lawyer Resilience and Healing”.

If you’re interested in Resilience Coaching, you’re probably looking for:

  • Tools to deal with “difficult people” or “challenging situations” in your professional and/or personal life;

  • Strategies to deal with the fear-based practices that are so common in the legal profession;

  • Techniques that support wellness, such as the “Biopsychosocial” approach to workplace well-being and the evidence-based tools that go with it which are rooted in Neurobiology, Psychology and Communication Studies.

As part of Coaching for Resilience, I use the “Core Language” approach developed by Mark Wolynn in his work on “Family Constellations”.

For more information about tools to address Inherited Family Trauma patterns, see this link: https://helgimaki.co/inherited-trauma-pattern-coaching

In addition to Coaching for resilience skills, I provide consulting and training on Trauma-Informed Lawyering.

For example, creating a “Desk Card” for lawyers on Trauma-Informed Practices to use within their organization. Or updating existing publications so they include Trauma-Informed perspectives and tools.
